I've decided I won't take the SX50 on my overseas trips this year. Convenient as it is, I was so impressed with the SLR shots, that it was a let down by the time I started sorting through the SX50's SD cards. Usually I post-process the SD cards first so, by the time I get to the CF cards, it's a pleasant change in quality: I enjoy saving them to last. Performing the process in reverse has made me see the light (and the pixels ;-) ).
The following few images are from the streets around our accommodation on Long Island (Queens). All were taken using the SX50. For online viewing, the SX50 does the job.
I think the thing that has surprised me most is the fact I have finally realised the compact camera, though much more convenient and inconspicuous than the SLR, really is no longer an option for me as a travelling camera. For this year's trips, anyway.
